The options window may be too big for the screen if the screen's height is less than 600 pixels high. If this is the case, using a smaller than 10 point font will fix it. If that's no good, drag the Media Plugin someplace else by clicking on its title.
If you move a layer then fix it, its position remains the same and painting will be limited to the area of the layer in view. To reset the layer position, click where it says layer in the Options window and choose Move->To Top Left.
Photogenics fails to open screennotify.library. That's ok if you don't have it, and is nothing to worry about.
